QTD to the rescue! Elevated Deck Collapses while in use.

Unfortunately this is a typical example of poor external construction techniques together with poorly treated timber which lead to this structure failing while the clients were using it. Luckily it was a 6′ drop onto sloping earth rather than the 10′ drop to a concrete path had it broken further over.

A lot of emphasis is placed on the surface materials used these days, however what supports and makes a structure is usually hidden and is equally if not more important. We were contacted by the owner who brought us in to consult and write a report on the failings, prior to dismantling and removing the dangerous structure. Once the site was clear we set about building a brand new structure to an agreed budget using a combination of structural graded and treated framework and posts,

ThermoWood Pine Softwood balustrading and Composite deckboards.
