Class 0 Fire-Treated Timber
by QTD Group
Safeguard Your Project with Our Advanced Fire Treatment
At QTD Group, we understand the critical importance of fire safety in building materials. That's why we offer a comprehensive fire treatment service for all our timber products. Our advanced treatment process ensures that your timber is not just coated superficially but fortified from within.
Durable Fire-Treated Cladding Tested by UKAS Accredited Labs
Unlike standard surface treatments, our fire treatment involves immersing timber in our specialized treatment tank. This method allows the fire-retardant solution to penetrate deeply into the cell structure of the wood, offering enhanced protection against fire. This in-depth treatment gives you complete confidence that, in the event of a fire, the treated timber will resist ignition and significantly reduce the potential spread of flames.
The fire retardant solution used is clear, ensuring that the natural beauty of the timber is preserved without altering its appearance—ideal for projects where aesthetics are as crucial as safety. Depending on the type of material, the treatment requires up to five days to fully cure into the timber's cell structure, ensuring lasting protection without the need for frequent reapplications.
Certified and Proven Safety Standards
Our fire treatment process adheres to rigorous safety standards and is certified under:
-
BS EN 13501-1 2007 + A1 2009: Reaction to fire classification: B-s2, d0 (Minimum thickness 12mm)
-
BS476 Part 6 and 7: Achieves Class 1 & Class 0 ratings
-
UL 723 / ASTM E84-A11: Steiner Tunnel Test
All treatments are independently tested by UKAS accredited laboratories within the UK to guarantee that our safety measures meet stringent regulations.
Your Assurance of Quality and Compliance
Upon completion of the treatment, QTD Group provides a countersigned certificate in collaboration with our treatment manufacturer. This certificate confirms that the fire treatment has been applied following strict guidelines and best practices, offering you peace of mind about the reliability and safety of your materials.
